National Flower Companies?

After 25 years in the flower business, I am still amazed that people continue to order flowers from ftd, 800 flowers and the rest of them. Ordering from these companies do a few things. 1. It takes money out of the community. 2. These national companies keep 30% of your order plus up to a $15.00 service charge. You didnt think they provided this service for free did you?? Example. If you spend $100 on flowers. You will pay $15 plus tax on top of that. Total would be approx $121.00 The order would then be wired ( sent ) to a florist in the delivery area. Since the florist only gets 70% of the order, after delivery, the florist is working with approx $58.05 Remember, they keep the tax and service fee, in addition to 30% of the initial $100 flower order.

If you dont mind over paying and getting less for your money, keep doing what you're doing. Just remember the community businesses are the ones that employ the most people and sponsor all the local school functions and sports teams.

Our Flowers

90% of the flowers we use come from standing orders. These standing orders are with the growers themselves, not wholesalers. To accomplish this, we must purchase a case of each flowers instead of by the bunch. In doing so, we get fresher product and a better price. All the benefits are passed over to the consumer.
